District Manager
$90kCall Your Mother
District Manager
Call Your Mother is the Jew-ish deli where Boca meets Brooklyn, grandma-level hospitality meets seriously good bagel sandwiches, and hard work meets face-melting vibes. Husband-and-wife team Andrew and Chef Dani built Call Your Mother around a simple idea: make scrumptious, nostalgic food and unforgettable experiences without being bougie or taking ourselves too seriously. From our first little farmer's market stand in 2018, to shops across the DMV, Colorado, Chicago, and Philadelphia in 2026, we're spreading carb love all over the map and our ovens are just getting warmed up! We'll take bagels to mars if the locals are hungry up there.
We're looking for a District Manager who is passionate about restaurant operations, leadership development, and building great teams. This is a highly hands-on field leadership role for someone who loves being in the shops, coaching leaders in real time, and helping drive results through people. You'll serve as a key operational leader responsible for developing General Managers, driving operational excellence, supporting new shop growth, and ensuring our culture comes to life in every location.
You'll spend your time where the action is—in our shops, shoulder-to-shoulder with General Managers and team members—coaching, teaching, problem-solving, celebrating wins, and ensuring both our people and our business thrive. Whether you're leading a manager shift, coaching through a challenge, supporting a busy weekend, or helping launch a new initiative, you'll be a visible and trusted leader who helps our teams and business thrive. Reporting to the SVP of Operations, you'll manage 3-6 locations within a region. You'll inspire teams, develop the next generation of leaders, and champion our Core Values ("VIBES") as we continue to grow our presence in the area.
Shall we proceed? If you blurted out an audible "YES INDEED!" then please keep reading.
You'll crush this role if you...
- Have 2+ years of multi-unit leadership experience, including at least 2 years in a quick-service, fast-casual, or high-volume restaurant environment.
- Have a strong understanding of P&L ownership, labor management, inventory controls, scheduling, food costs, and the other financial levers that drive restaurant performance.
- Are equally comfortable reviewing business results and jumping behind the line to support a busy shift.
- Believe the best leaders are visible, present, and willing to do any job they ask others to do.
- Have a proven track record of attracting, developing, and retaining strong, diverse teams.
- Get genuinely excited about building teams, developing people, and growing a successful business.
- Lead with humility, confidence, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Bring calm, clarity, and decisiveness to fast-paced environments—especially when things don't go according to plan.
- Communicate clearly, coach thoughtfully, and know how to build strong relationships and influence people at every level of an organization.
- Have successfully guided teams through growth, change, and new shop openings.
- Care deeply about culture and understand that memorable guest experiences start with exceptional team experiences.
- Can dig into the data, identify trends, and turn what you learn into meaningful improvements across your shops.
- Are hospitality-oriented and genuinely passionate about creating experiences that keep guests coming back.
- Can work a schedule driven by the needs of the business, including weekends and holidays.
- Lead from the field, spending the majority of your time shoulder-to-shoulder with General Managers, Shop Leaders, and team members.
- Are digging our BIG V.I.B.E.S. (Vibrancy, Integrity, Belonging, Energy, and Seize the Moment).
What you'll really be doing includes:
- Directly support and develop General Managers and hourly Shop Leaders across multiple shops, helping every leader and location perform at their best.
- Work manager shifts shoulder-to-shoulder with shop teams because the best leaders stay close to the people, food, and guest experience.
- Bring Call Your Mother's vision, culture, standards, and BIG V.I.B.E.S. to life through exceptional execution in every shop, every day.
- Spend significant time in the shops coaching leaders and working alongside teams to improve operations, hospitality, food quality, and overall performance.
- Train and mentor leaders on scheduling, labor management, hiring, inventory controls, food safety, and financial performance.
- Partner closely with General Managers to build strong teams, create thoughtful succession plans, and develop future leaders at every level.
- Conduct regular business reviews focused on P&L performance, guest feedback, operational opportunities, and plans for continued growth.
- Proactively solve facilities, maintenance, technology, staffing, and operational challenges so leaders can keep their shops running smoothly.
- Build a positive, high-performing culture rooted in accountability, development, belonging, and teamwork.
- Drive sales growth and profitability by identifying opportunities, improving operations, and holding teams accountable to consistent execution.
- Champion the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, organization, food quality, and hospitality across every shop.
- Build meaningful relationships in the community through local partnerships, events, and neighborhood engagement.
- Stay calm under pressure and approach unexpected challenges with a confident, solutions-first mindset.
And finally, if you need more reasons to apply:
- Competitive salary $90,000, plus quarterly bonus opportunity.
- Health Insurance. Health, dental, and vision insurance.
