Staff RN - PICU H2B

Overview ONLY HIRING EXPERIENCED NURSES AT THIS TIME 36 hours/week, straight nights or day/night rotation, every other weekend, holiday rotation. Base pay $36.90/hr plus applicable shift differentials. Pay will be commensurate with experience, with a $2/hr increase upon successful completion of department orientation. Benefits eligible. Job Description Summary Assists patients to move rapidly, uneventfully, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care while maintaining quality and safety as a priority. Delegates, directs, oversees and provides developmentally appropriate patient care. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA code of ethics and maintains a current Ohio nursing license. Essential Functions Provide nursing care using a family-centered approach. Assess individualized patient needs. Communicate patient care needs and priorities to LPNs, PCAs, unit coordinators, and allied health personnel. Plan, implement, educate, and evaluate care using evidence-based practices. Utilize therapeutic communication while monitoring the physical, psychological and social needs of patients and families. Engage in the workplace community by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding quality improvement, representing staff at relevant meetings, and reporting important information and updates back to staff. Document according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Education Requirement BSN; or an associate degree with commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of hire. Licensure Requirement Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Certifications Current CPR certification required. Must obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON, or other necessary certifications as determined by the manager based on business unit. Skills Quality and safety patient care skills.
