General Overview Provides emergency medical care to sick and injured patients in the prehospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care. Essential Responsibilities Drive emergency or response vehicle. (20%) Determine nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the prehospital setting. (50%) Complete required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%) Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and have accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%) Perform other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications Minimum High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience For Prehospital Response Unit 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status Medical Command eligible PA certification as Paramedic or licensed PHRN Valid Driver's License EMSVO within 30 days of hire ACLS within 30 days of hire ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire PALS within 30 days of hire CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Preferred Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz‑Mat Technician, IC 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS One year experience (AHN EMS) Seniority level Entry level Employment type Part‑time Job function Health Care Provider Industries Hospitals and Health Care Highmark Health and its affiliates prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals based on their status as protected veterans or individuals with disabilities and prohibit discrimination against all individuals based on any category protected by applicable federal, state, or local law. #J-18808-Ljbffr Allegheny Health Network
