Urgently Hiring: Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist

Medical Records Specialist | Healthcare Administrative Assistant

Compensation Hourly Up to $20.00 Hourly + Benefits

**Rate commensurate with experience

Location: Lake Worth, Palm Beach County FL (In-Office) Must be able to work onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Daytime Office Hours

This position is 100% in-office in Lake Worth, Florida , and may be a convenient commute for candidates in Lake Worth, Greenacres, Palm Springs, Lantana, Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Wellington, and surrounding Palm Beach County communities .

About the Role

Chrysalis Health is urgently hiring a Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist / Medical Records Specialist to support our behavioral health and psychiatric teams. This role is ideal for someone with healthcare administrative experience who is detail-oriented, organized, and ready to start quickly.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, maintain, and close client medical records

• Check charts in and out to authorized staff while maintaining HIPAA compliance

• Process psychiatric referrals and required documentation

• Submit psychiatric billing and obtain required provider signatures

• Verify Medicaid eligibility and apply appropriate billing codes

• Maintain accurate filing systems, records, and administrative documentation

• Monitor records in the eCR database and complete routine audits

• Respond promptly and professionally to calls, emails, and medical record requests

• Provide administrative support to Outpatient Therapy (OPT), Targeted Case Management (TCM), and other programs as needed

• Assist with coordinating and supporting building and regulatory inspections

• Coordinate with the copier company regarding service, maintenance, and equipment needs

• Assist with scheduling and coordinating elevator inspections

• Assist with coordinating fire inspections and related requirements

• Coordinate with the shredding company for secure document destruction and scheduled services

• Communicate with outside vendors and service providers and follow up on outstanding needs

• Help maintain an organized, professional, and well-functioning office environment

• Provide additional administrative and office support as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required

• 1+ year experience as a Medical Records Specialist, HIM Specialist, or Healthcare Administrative Assistant Preferred

• Knowledge of Medicaid billing strongly preferred

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Professional, customer-service–oriented communication
