IT Infrastructure Engineer/Architect

A highly skilled and experienced Engineer/Architect to join our IT team. A strong background in Citrix and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), with expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level virtual desktop solutions. This role will be responsible for engineering and architecting end-user computing solutions, ensuring high performance, security, and automation of VDI environments. The role will also support the architecture and engineering functions for global end-user solutions. This role focuses on Microsoft M365, software distribution, and the development of global IT standards to ensure seamless user experiences across a diverse enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops and Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions to meet business and technical requirements.
• Lead the engineering, automation, and optimization of VDI infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Develop and implement automation strategies to streamline VDI deployment, maintenance, and monitoring.
• Work closely with IT security teams to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
• Provide expertise in desktop engineering, including OS image creation, application packaging, and deployment.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex VDI-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network, security, and storage teams, to ensure seamless VDI integration.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of Microsoft M365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, Intune and related security and compliance tools.
• Support the architecture of global software distribution solutions, ensuring secure, efficient, and standardized application deployment across the enterprise.
• Contribute to the development and enforcement of global IT standards, ensuring consistency in endpoint configurations, security policies, and compliance measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to assess business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to M365 applications, software deployments, and endpoint configurations.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in enterprise IT solutions to drive innovation and process improvements.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers and IT support staff on related technologies and best practices.

Description of the Ideal Candidate

7+ years technical experience in an IT Infrastructure Engineering or Architect role in a large, global multi-site environment. Demonstrated strength in technical leadership in a highly collaborative, multi-divisional environment. Flexible to handle changing work priorities. Excellent communication skills - speaking, writing (including processes and procedures), and listening. Demonstrated process improvement capabilities. Project management experience. 4 yr. technical or business degree, or equivalent years of experience.
