Who We Want

Miller Industries is seeking a General Assembler to work on our 1 st Shift at our Burton location. The hours are 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday Friday with overtime as required on weekends as needed for production.

What You Will Be Doing

• Assemble walls floors ceilings and roofs using materials such as: wood steel metal plastics drywall and composites of multiple materials.
• Measure and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from Supervisor.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools machines or power saws.
• Use various hand and power tools to securely build assigned projects.
• Ensure the accuracy of work by checking completed projects with tools such as tape measures levels framing squares; corrects problems as needed.
• Fit and install windows and doors.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What Requirements Are Needed

• Ability to understand directions and read blueprints.
• 2 years of experience as a skilled carpenter drywall technician framer or general laborer required.
• Experience working with different carpentry materials and understanding of carpentry techniques/methods of installation construction.
• Good understanding of basic math and ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
• Walking/Standing/Bending for long periods of time.
• Ability to work at elevated heights including ladders lifts and rooftops.

Physical & Mental Requirements

Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties. Required to frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds. Expected to stand sit walk climb balance stoop kneel crouch crawl bend and operate objects tools and controls.
