About This Role

Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of young children? Kradles2Krayons Childcare Development Center is looking for a patient and compassionate teacher who has experience working with young children, ages 4 to 5 years old. The first steps 4K lead teacher will help lead developmentally–appropriate activities that encourage healthy physical, social, and emotional development for students.

• Adhere to the First Steps 4K guidelines
• Follow all employer, policies, and procedures at all times
• Create an implement weekly lesson plans, and coordinates with the First Steps 4K approved curriculum
• Keep parents and families updated on their students daily activities in progress
• Communicate with families on a daily or weekly basis through writing or face-to-face
• Foster classroom environment of safety and respect
• Perform daily cleaning routine routines to keep facility, sanitary, and safe
• Attend all required First Steps 4K and SC DSS training and obtain required continuing education hours.

• Be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• Two-year(2) degree in early childhood or a related field AND must be able to demonstrate progress towards a four-year education program
• MUST HAVE WORKED IN CHILDCARE IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS
• Driver's License and RELIABLE transportation
• Able to pass a child abuse in neglect, registry background check
• Ability to use a variety of computer applications to complete tasks
• In-depth understanding of child development principles, particularly in infancy and toddlerhood.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with families and a team.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
• Physical requirements include standing, bending, and the ability to lift children (up to 40 lbs).

The ideal candidate for this position must:

• Be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• MUST HAVE WORKED IN CHILDCARE IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS
• Have a valid driver’s license AND dependable transportation.
• Have a passion for caring for young children.
• You must be kind, patient, and flexible.
• Have a desire or willingness to join a startup company.
• Aspire to help guide young children as they grow and develop.
• Complete all new hire requirements.
• Record of immunizations and the ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to develop lesson plans that meet educational standards.
• Familiarity with classroom management skills.
• Decisiveness, patience, and stamina to chase after, lift, or carry children.
• Exceptional communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of stages of childhood development.
• Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children.

• Bachelors Degree in early childhood or related field
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Experience working in a play-based environment
• Ability to work creatively in flexibly

Regular working hours: Monday to Friday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
