The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management (CGSM) is a mission-driven community that connects prospective MBA students, member schools, alumni, and corporate partners to expand access and opportunity in graduate management education. We recruit and support talented applicants, collaborate closely with our member schools, and convene the community through our Orientation Program and year‑round recruitment and engagement events. Our work is student‑centered, operationally rigorous, and deeply mission‑aligned—focused on delivering a high‑quality candidate experience while helping our member schools build strong, diverse incoming classes. About the Role We’re hiring a Recruiting & Events Coordinator to serve as the operational and front‑-facing engine of our recruiting and admissions work. This is a hands‑on role responsible for planning our virtual and in‑person recruitment events, managing applicant engagement, evaluating applications, and maintaining clean, actionable data across the recruitment funnel. This role exists to ensure that CGSM’s recruiting and admissions efforts are well‑executed, well‑represented, and well‑tracked, from first student touchpoint through application review, while delivering a strong, mission‑aligned candidate experience. We’re a small, collaborative team where people wear multiple hats, communicate directly, and take pride in executing the details well. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys ownership, exposure, and frequent interaction with students and partners. What You’ll Do Recruitment Events & Outreach (≈40%) Plan and execute virtual and in‑person recruitment events (e.g., MAPS, member school webinars, external partnerships). Own event logistics end‑to‑end, including registration management, vendor coordination, run‑of‑show, materials, and post‑event follow‑up. Represent CGSM at recruitment events by speaking with prospective students, delivering presentations, and driving event sign‑ups. Travel domestically to attend recruitment events as needed. Track event performance (attendance, engagement, conversion to next funnel stage) and surface insights for improvement. Collaborate with Marketing to ensure recruitment events and communications are promoted and reflected accurately in the CRM. Manage the recruitment inbox, providing timely, high‑quality responses to applicant questions. Evaluate applications using established rubrics to support fair, consistent, and mission‑aligned admissions decisions. Support prospective applicants throughout the application process, including deadlines, requirements, and next steps. Ensure a strong, responsive candidate experience across all admissions touchpoints. Maintain accurate prospect, applicant, and event data in the CRM (Slate). Build and run standard recruiting and admissions reports (pipeline, conversion, yield, event ROI). Partner with Recruiting leadership to support funnel analysis and data‑informed decision‑making. Cross‑Functional & Member School Support (≈10%) Support student and member school engagement efforts by preparing agendas, decks, materials, and data summaries. Assist with internal stakeholder, committee, and leadership requests related to recruiting and admissions. Success in the First 90 Days Within your first 3 months, you’ll: Plan and execute multiple well‑run virtual and in‑person recruitment events with increased independence. Develop or refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for recruitment event planning and execution. Learn CGSM’s admissions process, partnerships, and MBA landscape well enough to confidently present to prospective students. Begin evaluating applications independently using established criteria. Demonstrate comfort representing CGSM in live student‑facing settings. What You Bring Must Haves Minimum of 2 years’ experience in recruiting Hands‑on experience planning and executing events (virtual and in person). Experience with vendor management Comfort presenting to large audiences and engaging prospective students with confidence and professionalism. Experience using a CRM system (Slate strongly preferred). Strong written communication skills, particularly for applicant‑facing emails and outreach. Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and execute independently without direct hierarchical control. Alignment with CGSM’s mission and commitment to student access and opportunity. Nice to Have Prior experience in higher education admissions or enrollment management. Familiarity with admissions terminology and processes (can be learned on the job if recruiting fundamentals are strong). Experience supporting reporting, funnel analysis, or recruitment strategy planning.
