Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling or a related field, active School Counselor license and 1+ years School Counselor experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a vital support role and make an impact in the lives of K-12 students as a contract School Counselor. Two experienced professionals are needed to cover maternity leaves through December, providing essential counseling services and conducting behavior threat assessments. This full-time, onsite position runs from August to mid-December, and you will be responsible for supporting a diverse caseload of 75-85 students from varying grade levels each day.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work
• Active Texas School Counselor Certificate issued by SBEC; accepting LPC, LCSW, LP, or LSSP credentials
• Experience supporting K-12 students in a school setting preferred
• Strong skills in conducting behavior threat assessments
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
• Capacity to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized counseling for students across K-12 grade levels
• Administer and document comprehensive behavior threat assessments
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention strategies
• Advocate for student well-being and foster a positive, supportive school climate
• Address academic, social, and emotional concerns through evidence-based techniques
• Maintain organized and confidential documentation in accordance with school and legal requirements
