Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 24 months of current operating room experience required License: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license required Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association or ARC) required Must-Have: - 24 months of current operating room experience - Circulating and operating room experience - Experience with general cases, da Vinci Robotics, pediatrics, and trauma - Familiarity with additional cases such as neurology, orthopedics (primarily trauma), gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ear, nose, and throat, and vascular preferred - EPIC electronic medical record system experience within the previous 3 years required - Trauma Level II experience required; Level I experience preferred - No first-time travelers, must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months Description: Quickly interviewing viable candidates. Phone call or text communication is necessary. Local radius rule: 50 miles from the facility. Holiday rotation required; work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. On-call may be required, with the possibility of up to one overnight call and three weekends per 13-week contract. Patient types and ratios will be determined at the time of orientation. Scrubs will be provided. The average caseload is between 35-50 cases per day, with expectations for turnovers of less than 20 minutes. Service lines include cardiac, neuro, orthopedic (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general, pediatrics, and transplants. Some procedures may include ENT and plastic surgeries. The traveler may be required to float across various facilities within the region. Both scrub and circulate roles are preferred. The call for weekends runs from the end of shift on Friday until Monday morning. Professional references from charge nurses, supervisors, or medical directors within the last 24 months are preferred.
