Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Pharmacist to join our team in the inpatient pharmacy department. This role is integral to supporting the medication management and dispensing processes across various areas, including ER, ICU, inpatient services, infusion center, and oncology center.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 8 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Call Requirements: Evening and overnight call on a rotating schedule
• Weekends: Required every third weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Perform compounding, order entry, and verification of medications for inpatient needs.
• Supervise and work collaboratively with pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient pharmacy operations.
• Maintain knowledge of inpatient pharmacy regulations and guidelines.
• Utilize the Pyxis medication dispensing system effectively while ensuring compliance with operational protocols.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Michigan pharmacist license and controlled substance license.
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience required.
• Familiarity with Paragon and Pyxis systems preferred.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required.

Working Environment

This position involves a rotating schedule with specific call and weekend requirements. Professional attire is expected; scrubs will be provided for staff. Orientation will be conducted by the pharmacy manager to ensure a smooth transition into the role.

Additional Notes

A solid foundation in inpatient pharmaceutical practices is essential. Candidates should be able to engage effectively with a diverse team and adapt to the dynamic demands of pharmacy services.
