Customs Entry Writer

Position PurposeThe Customs Entry Writer opportunity is designed for a customs professional capable of facilitating an impact role with the PGL Customs Brokerage Team. The Customs Entry Writer will facilitate the preparation and submission of the documentation necessary for the clearance of goods through customs for PGL’s most valued and dynamic customers.TasksReview import and export documents, including invoices, packing lists, and other relevant paperwork, to ensure accuracy and completeness.Prepare and submit customs entriesEnsure that all shipments meet applicable customs laws and regulations, including those related to tariffs, duties, and trade restrictions.Classify goods according to the Harmonized System (HS) codes.Calculate the estimated customs duties and applicable taxes to be paid, based on the value and classification of the goods.Coordinate communication to prevent or resolve any issues or delays related to customs clearance.Create accurate and timely records of all customs entries and related documentation.Work ActivitiesObserving, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.
