Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contracted role focuses on the TOREE Extended School Year (ESY) program for the 2025-2026 academic year. Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification for New York State
• Experience working within elementary or secondary school environments
• Strong understanding of best practices in special education and IEP implementation
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, creativity, and a commitment to fostering inclusive classroom communities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP
• Assess student progress and adjust plans as necessary
• Work with support staff and related service providers to ensure student success
• Maintain clear records on attendance, progress, and communication with families
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and IEP conferences
• Create a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment during the ESY term
