If you love turning wrenches, troubleshooting complex diesel engines, and taking pride in maintaining reliable commercial vehicles, we want you on our shop team!What You'll Be DoingCommercial Fleet Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance, oil changes, brake inspections, and tune-ups on our commercial fleet of diesel trucks.Master Troubleshooter: Diagnose and repair diesel engines, air brakes, electrical systems, suspensions, transmissions, and emission control systems.Preventative Safety: Conduct safety inspections to identify potential mechanical issues before they turn into road delays or safety hazards.Shop & System Operations: Utilize diagnostic software, maintain clean work areas, document work orders accurately, manage parts inventory, and follow lock-out/tag-out safety protocols.Continuous Improvement: Work alongside a skilled team to solve tough mechanical puzzles, keep shop efficiency high, and assist with training new shop team members.What We're Looking ForCredentials: High School Diploma or GED (vocational/technical diploma in diesel technology is a major plus!).Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and commercial fleet/truck maintenance.Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, air brakes, electrical systems, and computer literacy to use shop software systems.Tools of the Trade: Ownership of basic mechanic hand tools (specialty tools provided in-shop).Physical Capability: Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs and work actively in a bustling repair shop environment.CDL Advantage: A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus for test-driving fleet vehicles!Why Fix Fleet Trucks with GFL?Home Every Night & Year-Round Work: Enjoy stable, essential work with consistent schedules and regular hours.Competitive Pay & Full Benefits: Great hourly wages, health, dental, and vision packages, paid time off, and 401(k) options.Growth & Modern Tech: Access to ongoing training on modern diesel engine technologies and diagnostic equipment.Great Shop Culture: A supportive environment where your technical expertise and hard work are truly valued.We thank you for your interest.
