Overview Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position. FACULTY EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY. DEPARTMENT OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE. Part-Time Lecturer Pool Position. POSITION AVAILABLE: One or more temporary, part-time lecturers for a pool from which instructors will be considered for appointments as they become available for Fall Semester 2026 and/or Spring Semester 2027. Duties Teaching one or more courses in the areas of law enforcement, criminal law, corrections, victimology, and forensic science. Teaching assignments may include courses at the Hayward campus, Concord Center, local high school sites, local community college sites, and/or online, as determined by the department and university policy. Rank and Salary Lecturer. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Position appointment is subject to budgetary authorization. Lecturer AY (Range 2) - $5,507 - $6,677 Lecturer AY (Range 3) - $6,221 - $13,224 Lecturer AY (Range 4) - $6,825 - $14,523 Lecturer AY (Range 5) - $8,593 - $15,211 The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Date of Appointment Fall Semester begins August 17, 2026; Spring Semester begins January 19, 2027. Qualifications Ph.D. preferred. Minimum M.A./M.S. with university teaching experience and experience in a criminal justice field. Must reside in the State of California, even for online courses.
