Awards are reviewed during the annual compensation review and are subject to continued employment through the award payment date. What does the Advanced Practice Provider do? Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, the provider is involved in the care of individuals, families, and patient groups dealing with cancer or related diagnoses. Care may be in clinic or virtually via telemedicine. Responsibilities include prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. The provider may serve as direct caregiver, health‑care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. The provider ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program. Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response and prescribe therapies as indicated. Perform procedures after appropriate training. Assess patient/family needs and provide education. Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. Incorporate evidence‑based research into clinical practice. Develop knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation promptly. Provide case management for patients and families, given limited knowledge of community resources. Promote/provide staff education. May include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after‑hour calls. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification. Current state license as a Physician Assistant in the practicing state. Current BLS certification. Level I: zero to three years of experience. Level II: three to five years of experience. Level Senior: six or more years of experience. Physical Demands Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing, walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs, and normal corrected vision and hearing.
