Database Infrastructure Engineer

IDR is seeking a Database Infrastructure Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is focused on managing and optimizing critical database systems. The position involves designing, maintaining, and automating core database environments to ensure high performance, availability, and security.

Position Overview for the Database Infrastructure Engineer:

• Design, configure, and manage enterprise database environments, primarily in Azure Cloud and Windows Server platforms.
• Automate routine database management tasks, including backups, maintenance, and ETL workflows, utilizing scripting languages such as PowerShell and SSIS.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance for maximum uptime.
• Support disaster recovery strategies and conduct failover testing to ensure resiliency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams on application support, security, and infrastructure scaling initiatives.

Requirements for the Database Infrastructure Engineer:

• A bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Strong expertise in managing enterprise database systems such as MS SQL Server, with experience in Azure Cloud environments.
• Advanced scripting skills with PowerShell, SSIS, and automation tools.
• Solid understanding of storage, network architecture, and cloud infrastructure components.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage high-pressure critical incident resolution.
