Junior Youth Group Leader

Junior Youth Group Leader Work Term: September 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027 Salary: $4000 for the year Expectations To organize and oversee one or two activities per month (minimum 16 events/ school year), each lasting approximately 1.5h to 3h. The activities should be distributed over the three weekend days (Friday evening, Saturday evening, Sunday afternoon or evening) to maximize the number of tweens available, however, depending on the activity, timing can be modified. With guidance from the Rabbi and the Youth Committee chair, you will develop this programming based on tween feedback, ideas from prior years and your imagination. You will book venues, communicate modes of transport and event details as needed, manage the financial budgeting and charging of event costs. There is a small stipend available to offset program expenses; however cost recovery and budgeting will be part of the role. You will have access to the Temple building/security for programming. At the end of the year, you will submit a short report to the Youth Committee Chair summarizing JYG activities in 2026-2027. Responsibilities At the start of the school year, establish tentative calendar of events with dates. Create and maintain an email distribution list (+/- WhatsApp group) of parents and their tweens. Advertising of events and activities, creating flyers for newsletters (Temple and TIRS). Communication including parents, tweens, Temple youth committee chair, Temple Israel Religious School, Temple administration and liaising with FROSTY advisors for joint activities when appropriate. Budget management. Possibly some fundraising or application for micro-grants through the Jewish Federation of Ottawa. #J-18808-Ljbffr Jewish Federation of Ottawa
