AP Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the Finance Department in the areas of Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), invoicing, Billing, Collections, Bank Reconciliations and other accounting tasksPerform/assist with weekly A/P processes, preparing A/P aging schedules, bank reconciliations and grant reconciliations, and performing balance sheet reconciliations on assigned accountsPrepare journal entries and other transactions in MIP accounting software related to the period end close for all cost centers and programs including joint cost allocation of income and expensesPrepare schedules and reports in support of billing, productivity and financial performanceFacilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting vendors and clientsMaintain relationships with vendors and clients through vigilant professional and precise communication to ensure collection terms are metPerform general accounting tasks as assignedAssist in identifying inefficiencies and recommend solutions to decrease close time and increase accuracy and transparencyAssist during annual financial audit and all other required auditsPrepare ad hoc reportsOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSDegree in accounting or related fieldAt least 2 years in AP/ARKnowledge of GAAP and accounting practicesProficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables) and in accounting software (e.g. MIP, NetSuite ERP or similar)Ability to work thoughtfully and collaboratively with diverse and cross-cultural groups of peopleStrong communication skills, highly organized, attention to detail and self-motivatedAbility to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiativeCommitment to the mission and values of Davis Street #J-18808-Ljbffr Davis Street Community Center
