Assistant Environmental Services Manager
Rate: $19- $21/hour (depending on experience)
Shift: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:30 am - 5 pm

Northgate Health Care Facility is looking to add an Assistant Environmental Services Manager to its team. In this role, you’ll oversee building maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance programs, and grounds operations while helping ensure a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facility buildings, equipment, systems, and grounds
• Troubleshoot facility systems and equipment, prioritizing and resolving safety concerns and operational issues
• Plan, direct, and maintain preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, communication, oxygen, mechanical, and building systems
• Coordinate maintenance projects and repairs with other departments to minimize disruption to resident care and daily operations
• Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems to ensure compliance with safety standards, local codes, and regulatory requirements
• Supervise maintenance activities, outside contractors, and vendor services as needed
• Maintain fire safety equipment, emergency generators, security systems, and emergency preparedness procedures
• Perform or oversee repairs involving carpentry, painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building maintenance
• Maintain grounds, including snow removal, landscaping, waste management, and exterior upkeep
• Manage maintenance records, supply inventories, equipment purchases, and departmental documentation
• Support housekeeping and laundry operations as needed and perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum education requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent; High School Diploma with Trade School Certification preferred
• Minimum experience requirement: Prior experience in a skilled trade such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or related field and 3–5 years of maintenance experience; Trade School Certification and 5–7 years of building maintenance experience preferred
• Valid NYS Driver's License required
• Strong knowledge of building maintenance, mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and equipment repair
• Ability to troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve maintenance and safety concerns
• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, OSHA standards, and regulatory compliance
• Basic computer skills and ability to utilize word processing software
• Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff, contractors, and leadership teams
