Make your mark for patientsWe are looking for a Associate Director, U.S. Federal Government Affairs who is strategic, collaborative, and results-driven to join our U.S. Government Affairs & Public Policy (GAPP) team, based in our Washington, DC office.About the roleYou will be responsible for initiating and executing comprehensive strategies to engage with federal policymakers to help advance public policies that support patients’ access to innovative therapies. You will work across complex legislative environments, building relationships and influencing policy outcomes that align with patient-focused priorities. Who you’ll work withYou will collaborate closely with colleagues across corporate affairs, regulatory, commercial, and market access functions, as well as external partners including policymakers, trade associations, and coalitions. You’ll be part of a highly collaborative team focused on aligning priorities and driving meaningful impact for patients. What you’ll doRepresent UCB before the U.S. Congress and the Executive Branch on company specific issues as well as issues of importance to the biopharma industry. Shape policy strategies supporting access to innovative therapiesMonitor federal policy trends and assess business impactCollaborate internally to align priorities across functionsEngage trade associations and external partners to influence decisionsHelp manage federal engagement by UCB lobbying consultantsCommunicate policy developments and insights to key stakeholdersParticipate in political fundraisers on behalf of UCB’s political action committee. Outreach to eligible employees to encourage participation in PAC membership.Interested? For this role we’re looking for the followingMinimum requirementsBachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred8–10 years federal policy or Capitol Hill experienceExperience in healthcare public policy at the federal levelStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities independentlyProven ability to build relationships and drive collaboration Preferred requirementsStrong research and analysis skills in public policy, particularly health careAdvanced problem-solving and analytical capabilitiesStrong written communication and presentation skillsEstablished network within Congressional offices and policy stakeholders, particularly Republican officesComfort and ability to present information internally and externally on behalf of UCBThis positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $148,000-194,300.
