EVS Assistant Director

Xanitos is seeking a Mid Shift EVS Assistant Director for Kaiser Permanente in Fremont, CA. As an Assistant Director you will be responsible for overseeing the operational needs of the EVS Department, coordinating supervisory staff, ensuring staff training in compliance with The Joint Commission guidelines, scheduling staff within budgetary constraints, and acting as the administrative liaison between key client contacts and the departments in the absence of the Unit Director. Plan work schedules, hours, areas, and job duties to ensure adequate EVS services. Interview, select, hire, evaluate, and recommend termination of EVS personnel following facility standards. Orient, train and supervise all supervisory/EVS staff. Regularly inspect and evaluate the physical condition of the facility; recommend necessary repairs and furnishings. Provide monthly administrative progress reports on accomplishments, plans, and staff education/training. Supervise relocation and storage of furnishings and equipment; improve sanitation and appearance. Report unsafe conditions and conduct research to improve EVS technology. Conduct regular staff meetings and coordinate with other departments; may serve on facility‑wide committee. Schedule major project work, ensuring adequate staff and supplies. Conduct regular inventory of supplies, order items, and maintain costs within approved budget. Coordinate outside services (Pest Control, Window Cleaning, Medical Waste, Solid Waste, Document Destruction, Recycling). Discipline associates and prepare disciplinary reports following progressive disciplinary guidelines. Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly environment. Demonstrate and promote Xanitos’ culture, values, and management philosophy. Demonstrate quality leadership in meeting performance plans. Qualifications Employees in Healthcare must be fully vaccinated against COVID‑19 as a term and condition of employment. Previous experience in healthcare EVS at an equal or higher level with high customer/client contact required. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats. Ability to multi‑task and establish priorities. Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment. Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership. Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures. Demonstrated progressive growth in the field of health care EVS facility maintenance. Education High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission if applicable.
