The Opportunity

If you hold a Washington PL01 or PL02 plumbing license, love the service side of the trade, and believe in your ability to work within a performance pay model, this could be a strong opportunity.

A Washington PL01 who matches the averages of our existing team for job size and conversion rate can comfortably expect to earn $120,000 per year , with above-average performance realistically earning $160,000+ and top-tier performance exceeding $200,000.

What You'll Do

• Follow the Mr. Rooter customer service system. Earn trust, diagnose residential plumbing problems, and present multiple options with upfront, flat-rate pricing for customer approval before starting work. Personally complete every step of the process. Mr. Rooter Plumbing resolves approximately 90% of calls in a single visit.

• Demonstrate technical excellence in service plumbing. Mr. Rooter does not perform new construction or heavy commercial work. Our focus is residential service with similar work for light commercial sites. Expect lots of fixtures, water heaters, leak repairs, water services, and re-pipes.

• Train the next generation of the plumbing trade. Not all PL01s are assigned a full-time apprentice; however, each one makes themselves available as a remote technical reference and hosts occasional ride-alongs for trainees collecting hours toward their own PL04, PL02, or PL01 license.

• Maintain a well-stocked truck and work efficiently to complete jobs without unnecessary trips to the supply house or return visits.

• Clearly explain plumbing issues and repair options to homeowners.

• Maintain a clean, professional jobsite and provide an excellent customer experience.

This is a service plumbing position. Mr. Rooter does not perform new construction or heavy commercial plumbing.

What We're Looking For

• Washington PL01 or PL02 plumbing license required.

• Strong residential service plumbing experience.

• Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.

• Comfortable presenting multiple repair options using upfront, flat-rate pricing.

• Professional, courteous communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to work efficiently and independently.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Desire and patience to teach and mentor the next generation of plumbers.

• Performance pay based on the value of completed jobs with no pay limit

• A Washington PL01 who matches the averages of our existing team for job size and conversion rate can comfortably expect $120,000/year

• Above-average performance can realistically earn $160,000+

• Top-tier performance can exceed $200,000
