Receptionist/Office Assistant

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Receptionist/Office Assistant to join an optometry office. The ideal candidate will have a bubbly personality, strong communication skills, and a passion for providing excellent customer service. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is highly organized.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and ensure a warm, welcoming experience
• Direct patients to the appropriate part of the office with excellent patient care
• Inquire, update, and maintain accurate patient medical information, contact details, work status, and insurance records
• Answer and manage multiple phone lines, screen and direct calls professionally
• Obtain insurance authorizations prior to appointments and confirm active coverage
• Call patients to provide accurate fee quotes and appointment reminders
• Schedule appointments across multiple providers and services while managing busy schedules
• Confirm next-day appointments and follow up on referrals with patients
• Communicate with patients via phone, email, and text messaging
• Educate and guide patients regarding services, treatments, and processes
• Assist with occasional repair or adjustment of spectacles
• Collaborate with a diverse team to ensure the best patient outcomes
• Utilize multiple computer systems and technology platforms daily

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a busy office
• Comfortable using multiple computer systems and learning new programs
• Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately handle patient and insurance information
• Previous office, receptionist, or customer service experience preferred (medical/optical experience a plus)

Pay & Benefits:

• $17.00 per hour
