Finance Manager

Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee. Department: Port of Alaska Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Location: 1871 Anchorage Port Road Responsibilities Supervises staff in the Port Finance & Administration division under the Deputy Director. Coordinates financial administration for Don Young Port of Alaska’s operating and capital programs. Supports fund tracking, budget development and monitoring, grant administration, financial reporting, and annual audit preparation. Manages asset‑management coordination, compliance activities, accurate reporting, cost allocation, asset tracking, and fund reconciliation. Provides support to Port leadership and the Port of Alaska Modernization Program (PAMP) through financial tracking of grants, reimbursements, bond proceeds, capital assets, and project allocations. Helps resolve reporting, reconciliation, documentation, and cost‑coding issues affecting audit readiness, asset creation, grant compliance, and management decision‑making. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with 9 years of experience in program finance or accounting, including at least 2 years with a regulated utility. Associate’s degree in Planning, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline with 7 years of experience in finance or accounting, including at least 2 years with a regulated utility. Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline with 5 years of experience in finance or accounting, including at least 2 years with a regulated utility. Additional Requirements Valid State of Alaska driver’s license with satisfactory driving record at time of hire. Successful completion of a satisfactory background check at the time of hire.
