Location: Windsor, VT

Start Date: 10/26/2026

End Date: 01/25/2027

Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts, with call coverage

Hours/week: 32 guaranteed hours plus additional hours from call

Employment Type: Temporary, W-2

Licenses/Certifications: Valid RN license in VT or eligible to obtain

Experience: Strong assessment, IV, and patient education skills; PACU/ICU experience preferred

Hourly Pay Rate: $65.66

What You'll Do

• Provide specialized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in outpatient post-anesthesia recovery
• Perform admission and discharge assessments for surgical/procedure patients
• Monitor patient recovery, including Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and comfort
• Assist in the operating room as needed for outpatient procedures
• Educate patients on post-procedure care and expected recovery processes
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR

What You Need

Required:

• Valid RN license in Vermont or eligible to obtain
• 1+ years of nursing experience; PACU or ICU preferred
• Strong assessment, IV, and patient education skills
• Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with team members

Preferred:

• Experience in outpatient surgical or PACU settings
• Flexibility to work scheduled blocks including holidays

About the Assignment This position is based in a dedicated Same Day Surgery Center at a leading facility in Windsor, VT. The unit features two operating rooms and a procedure room, mainly providing outpatient surgical procedures for patients aged 16 and older. The RN will be primarily focused on post-anesthesia care, with opportunities to assist in the OR when needed. This assignment offers a structured schedule in a supportive environment, ideal for nurses seeking stability and patient-focused care.
