Senior Accountant

About the role: We’re partnering on a Senior Accountant search with a growing organization seeking a technically strong accounting professional who can contribute beyond the monthly close and play a key role in process improvement initiatives across the finance function. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and partnering with leadership to strengthen accounting operations. What youll own: • Prepare and review month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement support • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages • Research and analyze technical accounting matters and support the implementation of new accounting standards and policies • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency • Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and internal control enhancements • Support annual audits and serve as a key liaison with external auditors • Assist with financial analysis, variance reporting, and special projects as needed • Help document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support a scalable finance organization What were looking for: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • CPA or CPA-track strongly preferred • 2–5+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience highly preferred • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting concepts • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and supporting audit processes • Demonstrated success driving process improvements, automation initiatives, or operational efficiencies within accounting functions • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities Why consider it: • High-visibility role with exposure to senior leadership • Opportunity to influence process improvements and help build scalable accounting operations • Collaborative and growth-oriented team environment • Strong mix of technical accounting and business partnership responsibilities • Clear career progression opportunities within a stable and growing organization • Competitive compensation, bonus potential, and flexible work environment Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
