Salesforce Administrator

Department: Administration

Reports To: Lead Systems Developer

Location: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week in New York City)

Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven organization during a major Salesforce transformation and play a key role in shaping how staff leverage data to better serve their communities.

The Salesforce Administrator will support the implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and day-to-day operation of the organization's Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud environment and related data systems. Working closely with technical leadership, program stakeholders, and end users, this individual will help build long-term internal Salesforce capabilities while ensuring strong system adoption, data quality, and reporting effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Configuration

• Support Salesforce configuration, enhancements, and ongoing system maintenance
\n
• Build and maintain Flows, validation rules, page layouts, permission sets, and related functionality
\n
• Assist with testing and deployment of new platform features
\n
• Support sandbox management and release processes
\n
• Maintain strong security practices and data governance standards
\n

User Support & Training

\n
• Provide day-to-day Salesforce support to internal users
\n
• Troubleshoot technical and functional system issues
\n
• Deliver onboarding and training for new users
\n
• Create and maintain user guides, training materials, and system documentation
\n
• Promote Salesforce best practices and user adoption
\n

Data Quality & Management

\n
• Monitor and improve overall data quality and integrity
\n
• Support data imports, exports, migrations, and routine maintenance activities
\n
• Implement data validation and deduplication processes
\n
• Encourage consistent data entry standards across departments
\n

Reporting & Analytics

\n
• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards
\n
• Support business reporting and performance measurement initiatives
\n
• Assist with internal and external data requests
\n
• Help translate business needs into actionable reporting solutions
\n

Salesforce Implementation & Business Support

\n
• Partner with external Salesforce consultants and implementation teams
\n
• Support system rollouts, testing efforts, and user acceptance activities
\n
• Assist with migration from legacy platforms
\n
• Support change management initiatives and adoption strategies
\n
• Help communicate system updates and enhancements to stakeholders
\n

Qualifications

Required

\n
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
\n
• 2+ years of Salesforce Administration experience
\n
• Strong understanding of core Salesforce administration functions
\n
• Experience with:
\n
• Flow Builder (Screen Flows, Record-Triggered Flows, Scheduled Flows)
\n
• User management, profiles, permission sets, and security controls
\n
• Custom objects, fields, record types, and page layouts
\n
• Reports, dashboards, formula fields, and dashboard filters
\n
• Data imports and exports using Data Loader and related tools
\n
• Data quality management, validation rules, and deduplication processes
\n
• Strong Excel and data management skills
\n
• Experience supporting and training end users
\n
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
\n
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
\n
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
\n

Preferred

\n
• Salesforce Administrator Certification (or willingness to obtain)
\n
• Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud (NPC) or Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP)
\n
• Experience supporting nonprofit organizations
\n
• Experience with change management and user adoption initiatives
\n
• Experience working with sensitive or highly regulated data
\n
