The Crew Business Insights team is seeking a leader who will be responsible for the discovery, sizing, and initial feasibility assessment of efficiency solutions within Flight Operations (FOP). This role requires curiosity, innovation, partnership with operating divisions, expert level of data analysis, and the ability to translate insights from financial impact to results. The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of database structure/schemas and be able to translate data to deliver on dynamic business objectives. The initiatives generated by this leader are expected to result in substantial savings over the next 3 years in coordination with other arms of the team.
Responsibilities:
Cost-Saving Analytics and Insights:
Leadefforts to identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities within all FOPdepartments (Crew Scheduling, Crew Tracking, Hotels, Transportation, and Training)
Conductadvanced data analysis to understand inefficiencies in crew operations anddevelop strategies to align with business objectives
Collaboratewith internal stakeholders to validate analytics findings and proposed valuecapture
Decision Support & Business Value Communication:
Communicateinsights effectively to senior management, quantifying the value of recommendedactions and cost-saving initiatives
Buildclear, data-driven business cases to support operational changes and influencecompany-wide decision-making
Translatecomplex analytics into actionable recommendations for both technical andnon-technical stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Workclosely with cross-functional teams, including FOP, IT, ODS, and OAP to alignon initiatives that drive cost efficiency
Serveas a liaison between the analytics team and other departments, ensuringcollaborative and efficient execution of cost-saving strategies
Partnerwith data product team to enhance data availability and quality, supportingmore robust and accurate analysis
Continuous Improvement & Optimization:
Establishand track key performance metrics to monitor the success of cost-savinginitiatives and identify areas for further improvement
Leverageindustry best practices and emerging technologies
Drivethe continuous improvement of analytical methods, tools, and reporting systemsto deliver high-quality insights with increased efficiency
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
5+ years of experience in data analysis, businessinsights, consulting, or operations research with a focus on operationalefficiencies
Strong expertise in data analytics tools (e.g., SQL,Python, R)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with theability to articulate complex data insights and business impact clearly
Strong business acumen, with the ability to identify anddrive cost-saving initiatives through data-backed insights
Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, witha strategic mindset and strong focus on execution
Experience influencing decision-making at all levels ofthe organization through data storytelling
Ability to work cross-functionally and build strongrelationships with stakeholders across departments
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self,others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high schoolequivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to workin the United States.

Experience in consulting analytics role
Understanding of the Delta Pilot Working Agreement orother airline collective Bargaining Agreements
Familiarity with FAA pilot regulations
Experience with crew operating systems
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering orequivalent field
