About Continuum Continuum was founded five years ago by a small group of families and three dedicated guides committed to evolving Montessori education in relevant and measurable ways for the learners of the 21st century. Our school seeks to educate the whole child through a family‑oriented environment that supports the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of each student. We believe education is preparation for life and that adolescents thrive when given meaningful work, authentic responsibility, and opportunities for real‑world engagement. Continuum is intentionally small and relationship‑centered. Our current adolescent community includes approximately 15 middle school students and 23 high school students, allowing guides to know students deeply and support their individual growth. The Position Continuum is seeking a confident, collaborative, and creative educator to join our Secondary I and II teaching team. This is an extraordinary opportunity for someone who is passionate about reimagining the middle and high school experience through experiential, interdisciplinary, and student‑centered learning. As a member of our adolescent program, you will guide students in Grades 7‑12 through academic studies, project‑based learning, and experiential opportunities both on and off campus. This role is ideal for an educator who values curiosity, flexibility, collaboration, and innovation. Guides at Continuum are given meaningful autonomy while also receiving mentorship and support as we continue building and refining our adolescent program together. Responsibilities Develop and refine interdisciplinary curriculum, including yearly, project‑based, and daily learning plans Design academically rigorous learning experiences with real‑world relevance Collaborate with community partners, mentors, and organizations to support student learning Guide students through experiential learning opportunities, including outdoor education and educational travel Support students academically, socially, and emotionally through a Montessori adolescent framework Utilize varied instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs Implement meaningful formative and summative assessment practices Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, and colleagues Embrace the role of teacher as guide rather than distributor of knowledge Contribute positively to a collaborative and team‑oriented environment Participate in overnight school trips and extended experiential programs as required Qualifications Montessori Secondary I and II training strongly preferred Candidates without Montessori training will be considered if they demonstrate strong alignment with Montessori philosophy, adolescent development, and experiential learning, with the expectation that training will be pursued if employment continues beyond the first contract year Secondary teaching experience preferred Experience with project‑based learning, experiential education, outdoor education, advisory programs, coaching, mentoring, or progressive school environments is highly valued Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Comfort with non‑traditional, experiential, and student‑centered learning environments Compensation and Benefits Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience Full‑time, permanent position Tuition‑free enrollment for children of staff, with families encouraged to utilize available Step Up Scholarship funding when applicable Insurance stipend A school calendar intentionally designed to support rest and sustainability, including additional week‑long breaks in October and February #J-18808-Ljbffr American Montessori Society Inc
