Cardiovascular Special Procedures Tech PRN

Job Overview Position: Special Procedures Technologist – Registry/Per Diem at Banner Staffing Services (BSS) in Mesa, Arizona. This role performs specialized radiographic procedures in the cath lab, working as part of a team that performs approximately 11,000 procedures a year and serves around 5,900 patients. Work Schedule Three 12‑hour shifts Monday‑Friday 6:30 AM–7:00 PM with overnight, weekend, and holiday call required. Responsibilities Perform radiographic diagnostic/interventional special procedures following provider orders and department policies. Educate patients and families about the procedure, demonstrating professional conduct and fostering teamwork. Produce high‑quality images and prepare accurate documentation for interpretation. Perform invasive/interventional procedures and administer radiopharmaceuticals and approved medications. Execute equipment quality control measurements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure equipment performance. Maintain a safe environment, adhere to radiation safety policies, and uphold confidentiality. Ensure efficient workflow, monitor inventory, and prevent service interruptions. Independently conduct prescribed radiographic procedures per policies and protocols. Internal and External Customers Internal: all levels of medical imaging, nursing management, staff, medical staff, and interdisciplinary health‑care team. External: regulatory and health agencies; patients and family members. Qualifications Recent graduate or ≤2 years experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), or equivalent diagnostic interventions. Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program; ARRT certification required by state law. Licensure or certification as required by state regulatory agency. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (PALS required where applicable). Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology; understanding of Cath Lab procedures and protocols. Effective communication, human‑relations, problem‑solving, and data‑analysis skills.
