Job Title: Catholic Religious Education Coordinator

Job Location: Holloman AFB, NM

Work Schedule: Part-time, average of approximately 21 hours per week

Scope of Work:

Coordinates the Catholic Religious Education program for the Holloman Air Force Base Chapel. The position plans and administers faith-formation activities, supports adult and sacramental education, manages volunteers and records, and works closely with Catholic chapel leadership in an interfaith, pluralistic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate Catholic Religious Education activities and communication between the chapel community and other base organizations.
• Develop and maintain the annual Religious Education calendar and support adult education, sacramental education, Vacation Bible School, Christmas and Lenten programs, teacher appreciation, and other authorized activities.
• Research, plan, and order approved Religious Education curriculum and materials in coordination with chapel leadership.
• Recruit and train volunteer teachers and youth workers; conduct fall and spring volunteer training and ensure required security, safety, adult-to-child ratio, and facility protocols are followed.
• Prepare approved program publicity, event guides, calendars, and announcements.
• Oversee attendance and reporting for Religious Education, Rite of Christian Initiation, Catholic formation classes, Bible studies, and parish groups; submit weekly attendance reports.
• Maintain continuity, finance, parish-group, sacramental, and Archdiocesan support records and track volunteer hours.
• Coordinate facility, equipment, supply, and funding needs within established lead times and assigned budgets.
• Attend chapel team and Parish Advisory Council meetings as required and meet periodically with the faith-group chaplain.
• Maintain the security, cleanliness, and religious neutrality of facilities used for programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be working toward, or have completed, at least one required AMS certification class for Coordinator of Religious Education Level I or Level II in Catechesis; supporting course-completion documentation is required. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
• Resume must include at least two references familiar with the candidate's previous work with youth. Catholic Church ordained candidates must provide a Bishop or Superior approval letter.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and social media.
• Fluent English and the ability to provide positive customer service in an interfaith, pluralistic environment.
• Knowledge of, and ability to comply with, applicable Department of the Air Force 52-series instructions and 49th Wing Chapel Operating Instructions.
• Ability to complete installation background-check, fingerprinting, identity-management, and CAC-access requirements, as applicable.
• Ability to complete required Information Assurance Awareness and Total Force Awareness training.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Work is primarily performed at the Holloman AFB Chapel and associated program locations.
• Schedule includes Sunday Mass, youth-group activities, weekday office hours, meetings, and additional Holy Season or special-event support.
• Hours may vary by week while maintaining the stated monthly average.
