Job Title: Protestant Religious Education Coordinator

Job Location: Holloman AFB, NM

Work Schedule: Part-time, average of approximately 21 hours per week

Scope of Work:

Coordinates and supports the Protestant Religious Education program for the Holloman Air Force Base Chapel. The position manages program planning, volunteer support, communications, records, attendance reporting, and coordination with chapel staff and base organizations in an interfaith, pluralistic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate Protestant Religious Education activities and facilitate communication between the chapel community and other base organizations.
• Develop, submit, and maintain the annual Religious Education planning calendar and support authorized programs, including Vacation Bible School, Children's Church, Christmas programming, teacher appreciation, and other chapel events.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteer teachers and youth workers; conduct fall and spring volunteer training events and ensure required facility, policy, safety, and resource protocols are followed.
• Ensure youth-program volunteers complete required background checks and security requirements and maintain appropriate adult-to-child ratios.
• Prepare approved announcements, flyers, bulletin inserts, event guides, calendars, and weekly presentation materials.
• Oversee Religious Education classes and related groups, submit weekly attendance reports, maintain teacher and volunteer rosters, track volunteer hours, and preserve continuity, finance, and parish-group records.
• Coordinate goods, services, facilities, equipment, supplies, and funding requests within required lead times and assigned budgets.
• Attend chapel team and Parish Advisory Council meetings as required and meet periodically with the faith-group chaplain.
• Maintain the security, cleanliness, and religious neutrality of facilities used for programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and at least three years of Religious Education experience; documented five years of management experience and/or five years of church administration experience may substitute for the degree.
• Resume must include at least two references familiar with the candidate's previous work with youth.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and social media.
• Fluent English and the ability to provide positive customer service in an interfaith, pluralistic environment.
• Knowledge of, and ability to comply with, applicable Department of the Air Force 52-series instructions and 49th Wing Chapel Operating Instructions.
• Ability to complete installation background-check, fingerprinting, identity-management, and CAC-access requirements, as applicable.
• Ability to complete required Information Assurance Awareness and Total Force Awareness training.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

• Work is primarily performed at the Holloman AFB Chapel and associated program locations.
• Schedule includes Sunday services, weekday planning and religious studies, meetings, and occasional Holy Season or special-event hours.
• Must be able to arrive before scheduled classes or events, remain through completion, and support facility cleanup.
