Strategic Financial Manager

Job Description The Manager – Strategic Financial Initiatives is a mid‑level accounting professional responsible for assessing the financial results of operating divisions and evaluating strategic initiatives. The role generates executive options for decisions involving strategic initiatives such as separate legal entity set‑ups, acquisitions, and new market studies. Essential Functions Coordinate with the Corporate Controller to develop long‑term forecasts and a strategy aligned with operational objectives. Maintain relationships with banking partners and support the Capital Assets Finance Manager. Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing processes and provide ad‑hoc accounting support. Lead the external audit execution, prepare schedules, answer auditors’ questions, and report status to the Corporate Controller. Perform account reconciliations and prepare and analyze records and reports. Book monthly activity for related entities. Other Responsibilities Participate in special projects, team training, and development. Foster and maintain a safe work environment. Assist with the leadership and development of project team members. Perform all other duties as assigned. Work Environment This position operates in a clerical office setting using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The individual will report to our Tampa regional office. Physical Demands Employee regularly sits for long periods at a desk, occasionally lifts or carries objects, and requires standard vision and hearing. Work involves standing, walking, using hands, and reaching. Position Type & Hours Full‑time exempt position that may require additional hours. Travel Preferred travel 20–30% to project sites for audit reviews. Virtual attendance is accommodated. Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or comparable business administration certification program. A relevant professional certification (CPA, CCIFP, CFA, CMA) or over five years of heavy civil construction industry experience. Preferred Education & Experience Master’s degree in accounting, business, or finance. Public accounting experience. 1–2 years of construction experience. Additional Eligibility Requirements Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver’s license prior to employment.
