Occupational Therapist School Setting in Detroit, MI

Qualifications:

• Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of Michigan
• Master's degree or higher from an accredited occupational therapy program
• Previous experience in a school setting preferred
• Familiarity with IEP documentation and implementation
• Strong time management and organizational abilities for itinerant work
• Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other specialists
• Flexibility and adaptability to serve on multiple campuses

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify students' needs related to fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and access to curriculum
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans aligned with IEP goals
• Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and prepare reports in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Serve as a resource for parents and caregivers, offering strategies and support for student success
• Travel between two campus locations as part of your regular schedule
