Job Summary
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse in Madison, WI. This position involves providing family-centered, comprehensive care to critically ill or injured children in a state-of-the-art pediatric unit. The role requires collaborating within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to manage complex medical and surgical cases, including acute head injuries, critical neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO support.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, from 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM, with every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Required Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or compact license from the applicants state of residence; American Heart Association certification in BLS, PALS, and NRP; Pediatric ICU experience required; Basic Arrhythmia experience must be demonstrated; minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years in the specialty.
• Preferred Qualifications: NICU experience is a plus; experience with inbound telemetry and Pediatric CVICU is valued; proven ability to perform specialized procedures such as End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, arterial line management, ventilator management, and PICC line care.
• Additional Information: This position requires passing strict telemetry and cardiac interpretation assessments. The assignment includes floater shifts within multiple pediatric units based on staffing needs, with the necessity of floating to general population units when required. Travel compliance mandates that candidates reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
