Overview Arlington Public Schools seeks a licensed secondary English teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year at Arlington High School. Responsibilities Collaborate with fellow teachers, special educators, administrators, and other staff. Effectively communicate with parents and guardians. Develop and implement curriculum that fosters critical reading, writing, and thinking skills. Integrate social justice and diverse perspectives into instruction. Differentiated instruction for a wide array of student learning needs. Apply social‑emotional learning strategies. Participate in the new teacher induction program with mentoring. Qualifications Licensed secondary English teacher. Demonstrated ability to develop critical reading, writing, and thinking skills. Attentive to issues of social justice and ability to integrate diverse perspectives. Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners. Knowledge of social‑emotional learning (SEL) strategies. Terms of Employment 183 days. Reports to Special Education Coordinator and Building Principal. Salary and Benefits Salary and benefits are consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Arlington School Committee and the Arlington Education Association. Salary placement is based on Education and Experience. Salary details are available on our website. Induction Program Arlington has a well‑established induction program with mentoring throughout the school year. The first official work day for the 2026‑2027 school year is August 31, 2026, and new staff attend orientation and training during the last two weeks of August.
