Contract | 13 Weeks | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 Hours/Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Cardiac Renal Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving a complex patient population including post-cardiac procedure (heart cath, ablation, pacemaker), A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, renal biopsy, and behavioral health/detox patients
• Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation , including passing required tele competency assessments
• Manage cardiac and other IV drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, Protonix, etc.), chest tubes, indwelling drains, and central line care
• Recover heart cath patients using femoral and TR band techniques; perform PIV insertion and apply CIWA/detox protocols
• Float within skillset as needed, including to a sister campus approximately 8 miles away and potentially to a Kentucky campus approximately 11 miles away, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus float
• May be required to precept students and new hires, as this is a teaching facility

Required Qualifications

• Current, active RN Compact License required
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of two years of strong cardiac/telemetry experience
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required
• Must not live within 40 miles of the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to manage high-acuity cardiac and renal patients
• Experience with CBI and detox/CIWA protocols
• Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic, fast-paced unit environment
• Positive, team-oriented communication style
