Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Days, 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Cardiac Renal Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a day shift ratio of 1:4–5
• Manage a patient population including post-cardiac procedure patients (heart cath, ablation, pacemaker), A-fib RVR, ESRD, CHF, sepsis, tracheostomies, nephrostomy tubes, CBI, renal biopsy, and behavioral health/detox
• Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation; travelers are required to pass telemetry competency tests
• Execute drip management (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, Protonix, etc.), recover heart cath patients (femoral/TR bands), and manage chest tubes, indwelling drains, central lines, and PIV insertion
• Apply CIWA/detox protocol experience and utilize strong assessment and critical thinking skills throughout all patient interactions
• Float within skillset as needed, including to a secondary campus approximately 8 miles away and potentially a third campus across state lines; 2-hour notice is provided for cross-campus floats

Required Qualifications

• Active, current compact RN license required
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of two years of strong cardiac/telemetry experience
• At least one prior travel nursing assignment required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
• Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CBI and nephrostomy tube management
• Familiarity with behavioral health and detox patient populations
• Demonstrated adaptability, resilience, and ability to manage change in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort with precepting students and new hires in a teaching hospital setting
