Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer

Role Description

The Bank of New York Mellon seeks Senior Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer in Jersey City, NJ, to consult with internal business groups to provide high-level application software development services or technical support. Responsibilities include:

• Provide comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staffs.
• Evaluate compliance with the organization's technology standards.
• Program well-designed, testable, efficient code.
• Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites.
• Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions.
• Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain).
• Actively participate in code reviews.
• Integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
• Apply security and privacy principles.
• Work with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications.
• Analyze information and provide recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group.
• Guide and consult with IT management and technical staffs regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services.
• Participate in defining corporate implementation and integration strategies of new technologies.

Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation in the financial services industry.

Requirements

• Designing and developing robust Micro Services using Java/Java Enterprise Edition specification, Spring Boot Framework, Maven, REST APIs, MongoDB, and Oracle.
• Creating real-time data streaming solutions, handling messaging services, and event-driven communication using Spring Boot, Spring Batch, WebSocket, and Apache Kafka.
• Building an application that exposes components as Micro Frontends allowing them to be consumed directly in Web and Mobile platforms using Node.js, React, and Angular Frameworks.
• Utilizing Agile methodology including CI/CD, application resiliency and security, as well as handling developmental toolsets including GIT/Bitbucket, Splunk, Junit, SonarQube, JIRA, Maven and Veracode.
• Developing high-throughput and fault-tolerant stream processing of data streams using Apache and Kafka.
