The Basics- Location: Elk Grove Village, Illinois
- Shift: First shift, 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
- Pay: $30–$35 per hour
- Opening: 1
- Hire Type: Contract-to-Hire
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot surface and OD/ID grinders to meet drawing and GD&T requirements.
- Grind features to ultra-precise tolerances of ±0.0001 inch and achieve required surface finishes.
- Perform first-article inspections and complete all quality documentation.
- Use micrometers, indicators, gauges, inspection tools, and digital optical measurement systems.
- Support 5S, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance routines.
- Follow safety, quality, and standard operating procedures without compromise.
- Physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs; reasonable accommodation available as needed.
- 3+ years in precision grinding or close-tolerance machining.
- Comfortable setting up and troubleshooting grinding equipment.
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation.
- Hands-on metrology skills with precision measurement tools.
- Consistent track record holding ±0.0001 inch.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or GED.
