Logistics Coordinator

Location: Multiple locations, NY, SD, MN, IL, PA Department: Supply Chain & Logistics Reports To: Logistics Manager / Supply Chain Manager Role Summary The Logistics Coordinator manages the transportation and delivery of turbine components, equipment, and materials between manufacturing facilities, ports, warehouses, and project/construction sites. This role coordinates domestic and international freight — including oversized and heavy-haul shipments common to wind turbine components (blades, tower sections, nacelles) — ensuring on-time, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods across the supply chain. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with freight carriers, trucking companies, rail, and ocean/air freight providers. Schedule and track oversized/heavy-haul transport of turbine components (blades, towers, nacelles), including permitting and route surveys where required. Serve as primary point of contact for carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers on shipment status, delays, and issue resolution. Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, customs paperwork, and export/import compliance documents. Coordinate delivery schedules with project sites, production planning, and warehouse teams to align transportation with construction and manufacturing timelines. Track freight costs and support budget/spend reporting; identify opportunities for freight cost savings and routing efficiencies. Monitor shipment KPIs (on-time delivery, damage rates, transit times) and report performance to leadership. Resolve transportation issues such as delays, damaged goods, customs holds, or routing problems, escalating as needed. Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and applicable state/federal regulations for oversized/overweight loads. Coordinate with Quality and Warehouse teams on receiving inspections and damage claims related to inbound freight. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to carrier performance, routing strategy, and logistics costs. Required Qualifications 2–7+ years of experience in logistics, transportation coordination, freight management, or supply chain — manufacturing, industrial, energy, or construction environment preferred. Working knowledge of domestic freight operations; experience with oversized/heavy-haul or specialized transport strongly preferred. Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and/or ERP systems (e.g., SAP). Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, bills of lading, and customs/export paperwork. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate effectively with carriers, vendors, and internal teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard office software. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience. Experience in wind energy, renewable energy, or heavy industrial/large‑component logistics. Experience with permitting and route planning for oversized/overweight loads. Experience with international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or import/export compliance (e.g., Incoterms). APICS/CLTD, CTL, or similar transportation/logistics certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail in documentation, scheduling, and regulatory compliance. Proactive and able to anticipate transportation risks before they impact project or production timelines. Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced environment with tight, often changing delivery windows. Strong relationship‑management skills with carriers, brokers, and internal stakeholders. Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance in all transportation activities. Work Environment and Physical Demands This role operates primarily in an office environment with regular coordination with warehouse, yard, and site personnel. The incumbent must be able to sit/stand for a full shift, occasionally visit warehouse or laydown yard areas, and may be required to travel to project sites or supplier/carrier locations as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
