The Automation Fabrication & Assembly Technician is a hands-on, onsite role focused on building, assembling, and integrating automated equipment systems used throughout the business. This role prioritizes fabrication, mechanical/electrical assembly, system integration, and new equipment deployment. Success in this role means delivering high-quality builds that improve throughput, reduce manual handling, and enable scalable automation solutions. This position is located in Monroe, WA and reports to the Automation department head.
Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and integrate mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for automation equipment.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD designs.
• Build, route, and install wiring, panels, and electrical components for automation systems.
• Support prototyping, testing, and iteration of new automation designs.
• Participate in equipment installation and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with engineering to refine designs for manufacturability and reliability.
• Assist with validation, testing, and startup of new equipment.
• Configure components, sensors, actuators, and control systems.

Essential Skills

• Strong hands-on fabrication and assembly experience.
• Familiarity with electro-mechanical systems, including motors, drives, sensors, and actuators.
• Experience reading and following technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
• Basic experience with PLCs, robotics, or automation systems.
• Experience building custom automation or production equipment.
• Exposure to CAD tools or design-for-assembly principles.
• Prototyping or R&D environment experience.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse/production environment. Employees should be prepared to stand and work on hard surfaces for up to 8 hours per day, occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks that may involve squatting, kneeling, bending, stooping, and reaching. No personal protective equipment, medical, or certifications are required.

This is a Contract position based out of Monroe, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
