HVAC Service Technician

Icon Mechanical is seeking qualified professionals to join our Service team in Nashville, TN. We are a full‑service mechanical contractor and construction firm specializing in fabrication, installation, modification, and ongoing service of process piping, power piping, boiler making, industrial equipment installation, industrial ventilation, and HVAC. Icon is IMI’s original, flagship firm and has constructed projects in over 42 states across technology, data centers, healthcare, laboratories, pharmaceuticals, automotive, and education markets. We are seeking HVAC Service Technicians to be primarily based out of our Nashville, TN office with travel to the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area. The ideal candidate will have at least 3‑5 years of experience in a similar role, be eager to learn, possess excellent communication skills, and work well in a team environment. The technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of HVAC systems with strong service abilities toward chillers and commercial boilers for our clients. Primary responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment, including logging readings, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters and belts, and lubricating components. Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems such as fan coils, chillers, water source heat pumps, air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, condenser tubes, VRF systems, and mini‑splits. Repair or replace defective components, wiring, and controls as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot system issues. Prepare detailed work orders and service documentation. Install new commercial HVAC systems and perform system upgrades. Respond promptly to emergency service calls. Communicate professionally with clients, project managers, and team members. Primary qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred). HVAC Service Technician certification (preferred). Minimum of 5 years of HVAC service experience (plus). Working knowledge of HVAC systems, wiring diagrams, schematics, and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints (plus). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check.
