Appliance Repair TechnicianAs an Appliance Repair Technician, you are a key member of the team responsible for the quality and efficient repair of appliances and other equipment. This position is right for you if you are self-motivated, have a knack for troubleshooting, and are able to manage time to effectively meet deadlines. Ideally, you have proven communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers.Specific Responsibilities:Diagnose malfunctioning appliances, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemPerform physically demanding tasks such as removal and replacement of ovens, cooktops, ranges, refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, and dryersProvide cost estimates for repairs/installations and collect payment and/or payment information from customers for work performedEnsure the efficient use of materials and keep company vehicle and equipment properly servicedMaintain safe and clean working environmentPerform other duties as neededJob Requirements:Excellent work ethic and a positive attitude1-2+ years minimum of major appliance repair experience requiredMust have EPA Certification or be able to pass the EPA testStrong customer service and communication skillsWilling to learnHigh school graduate or equivalentValid Driver's License with a clean recordMust be at least 18 years of ageProficiency to navigate tablet-based technologyThe ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis, and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis without assistance and the physical ability to perform strenuous work under varied circumstancesNo weekendsPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
