Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room (ER) provides skilled nursing care to patients of all ages and populations in a fast-paced 15-bed ER plus a 6-bed fast track unit. The role involves patient assessments, emergency interventions, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency care. The RN must hold a current Hawaii nursing license and have at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience. Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments and triage in the ER setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Provide emergency nursing care to patients with a wide range of conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, providers, and other healthcare team members.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment in the ER and fast track areas.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of Hawaii.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in emergency nursing or critical care.
• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
• Trauma nursing certification (TNCC) or equivalent.
• Experience working with diverse patient populations.

Special Considerations:

• Must be licensed to practice nursing in Hawaii.
• Work involves all age groups and diverse medical emergencies.
• May require working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Scheduling:

• Shifts include days, evenings, and nights.
• Scheduling is based on unit needs and may include rotating shifts.
