Two full-time positions are available for skilled Special Education Teachers to work in Special Day Classes for the upcoming school year. Both roles are based in the Lancaster, CA area, serving students with mild to moderate needs. One position supports a 4th-6th grade classroom, while the other covers 7th-8th grade learners. Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential (SPED), mild to moderate emphasis preferred
- Experience working with elementary or middle school students in special education
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Ability to differentiate curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Team-oriented, flexible, and positive communicator
- Commitment to fostering student growth and independence
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to support students with varying learning levels
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, general education staff, and related service providers
- Track and report student progress and maintain accurate documentation
- Foster an inclusive environment where all students feel supported
- Engage with families to maximize student success and well-being
