Payroll Specialist

Location: Centennial, CO (In-office)

Salary: $60,000-70,000 annually, based on experience

The Payroll Specialist will support end-to-end payroll processing for our workforce of 2,000+ employees. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations while partnering closely with HR and Accounting to maintain data integrity across systems.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits accurately
• Verify and maintain employee time records, attendance, and leave balances
• Complete employee onboarding and process terminations within payroll systems
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholdings
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports and required tax filings, including W-2s, 1099s, and other related documents
• Stay informed of changes to payroll laws, tax rates, and regulatory requirements
• Support internal and external audits and assist with payroll-related reporting as needed
• Manage employment verifications and respond to employee payroll-related inquiries
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
• Partner with HR and Accounting teams to ensure accurate integration of payroll data across systems
• Assist with year-end payroll processing, reconciliation, and reporting

Systems:

• Paycom, NetSuite
• Excel: pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and formula creation

Requirements:

• 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a mid-to-large organization
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
