Job Description Subject: Teacher - Mathematics Reports To: Building Principal Accountability Objective: This position is accountable for delivering a high‑quality instructional experience through creativity, resourcefulness, and sound judgment consistent with the curriculum frameworks, standards, and the rules and regulations of the Worcester Public Schools. Principal Responsibilities Responsible for remaining up to date regarding curriculum content. Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction. Responsible for mentoring students’ understanding of the curriculum effectively and adjusting instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate. Responsible for effective management of classroom environment. Responsible for effective instruction, which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques. Responsible for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn. Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement. Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans, and/or second language learners. Required Qualifications MA DESE License – Mathematics: 8‑12 SEI Endorsement Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs. Ability to speak Albanian, Arabic, Nepali, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, or an African language. Demonstrated experience with second language acquisition. Other Details Work Year: 185 days. This position covers a 1‑year Leave of Absence and will end on 6/30/2027. Salary scale shown is based on the candidate holding a Bachelor’s Degree. Potential to increase based on degree level.
