Staff Accountant

We are recruiting for a Staff Accountant to join a growing, well-established accounting firm in Albany, NY. The Staff Accountant provides basic accounting, auditing, and tax services to clients while adhering to firm and general accounting guidelines. The Staff Accountant will be expected to complete routine accounting and tax related work with supervision. As a Staff Accountant, individuals are in a formative period of training, as the skills learned during this time frame serve as the basis for all future learning and development. To obtain the necessary training, Staff Accountants normally work under the supervision of a more experienced staff member, and training programs are provided. Responsibilities: Full responsibility on smaller accounting engagements including preparation of financial statements. Prepare federal and state income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates and individuals. Work on portions of larger accounting and audit engagements. Perform basic accounting functions including bookkeeping and reconciliations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field At least two years’ experience in accounting or a related field Strong mathematical and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft suite of products – Word and Excel Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Ability to read and analyze financial reports and understanding of the balance sheet and profit and loss statement $60,000 -75,0000 annually depending on experience Our robust employee benefits package includes: a competitive salary, paid vacation, sick time and holidays, health insurance (including dental and vision), 401(k) and life insurance.
